How we work

Our consultants can work with your staff on specific interference-related problems, or on an entire system EMC program—from proposal through final qualification test and report.  Support can be provided in any or all of the following program efforts.

PROPOSAL — As a member of the proposal team our consultant evaluates the specified EMC requirements and your proposed system.  Working with your design engineers he then formulates an effective approach for compliance with the applicable EMC requirements.  He then provides inputs to the applicable EMC sections of the proposal.

CONTROL PLAN — In the early design phase, potential EMC problem areas are identified and effective corrective design measures are formulated and implemented.  The overall EMC approach is documented in an Interference Control Plan dcument for use as a working document by your design engineers.  The plan also addresses design provisions to assure self-compatibility.  When contractually required, the EMC Control Plan document is formulated in accordance with your customer’s requirements and submitted formally.

DEVELOPMENT PHASE — He closely monitors the design effort to assure proper implementation of the EMC approach. Based on analysis and exploratory tests which he may develop and carry-through, he specifies required shielding provisions for enclosures and cabling, and equipment layout — down to the circuit card level.  On subcontracted items he flows-down applicable portions of the specified EMC requirements, and closely monitors progress of the supplier.

DESIGN REVIEWS — As a member of the program management team, he participates in formal design reviews with your suppliers and with your customer. At these reviews, he presents the interference control approach, and responds to any EMC action items.

INTERFERENCE TESTS — He prepares the Interference Test Plan, aids in the selection of a suitable test facility, and monitors the tests.  In the event of any failures, he locates the fault and develops and proves-out suitable corrective measures.  He then prepares the covering test report in full compliance with your customer’s requirements
